The Review department receives special attention, and endeavours are made to present à esraful and conciso record of Literature on China atc., and to give oritiques embodying akotchos of the Most recent works on such topics. Authora and Publishers are requested to forward works to Editor, Quind Review, care of China Mail Office
The Notes and Quarios are still continued and form an important nicans of obtaining from and diffusing among students know lodge on obscure points.
The Correspondents' column also affords farther and greater facilities for the inter change of viows and discussion of various topics.
Original contributions in Chinese, Latin, or any of the Modern Languages are re- coived, Tho papers are contributed by the machers of the various Consular, the In- perial Customs, and Hongkong Services, and also by the Missionary bodies amongst whom a high degree of Chinese scholarship is nesiduously cultivated.
Amongst the
regular contributors aro Drs. Chaleta, Eitel, Bratachneider, and Firth, Professor Legge, and Messrs Balfour, Watters, Stoot, Phillipa, MacIntyre, Groot, Jamieson, Fabor, Kopach, Purker, Playfair, Giles, Piton, and Taylor,ali well-known names indicative of sound sololarship and thorough mastery of their subject.
