The opium, was takon possession of by the Exeise Officers, on the ground that the owner had broken several sections of the Opinin Ordinance. On the case being called to-day Mi Wotton, who appeared for the Opium Farmer-aaid it was an important case involving the rights of the Opium Farmer and the reverus of the Colony, and he wished an adjournment tar to-morrow to inquire more particularly into the mattor Mr Ewens, who appeared for the Opium Guild, opposed the adjournment, stating that the Attorney Genemt would not take up the case on behalf of the Gov ernment, and that there were no grounds to "found a charge on. He wished the ense to be proceeded with t vace or withdrawn.
