Hongkong Rates of Postage.
In the followay Statemente and Tablca the Rates are given in crate, and are, for Letters per half race, for Books and Patterns, per two ounces.
Newspaper for four oances in weight are charged as double, treble, &c., as the case may be, but el papers or pockets of papers may be sent at Book Rate. Two Nowapapors must not be folded together as one, nor must anything whatever bu insorted except bona fide Supplements. Printed maltor may, however, be enclosed, if the whole he pairt at Book Bata. Prices Cur- rent may be paid either as Nawapapers or Booka.
Commercial Papers signify such paporn as, though Written by Hand, do not hear Through Bills of Lading issued for triaus the character of an actual or personal corro- portation to Yokohama and other Japan spondence, such as invoices, douds, copied Porte, to San Francisco, to Atlantic and music, &c. Tho charge on them in thig samue Inland Cities of the United Statee, vit, Ovaran for books, but, whatever the weight of land Railways, to Havana, Trinidad, and a packet containing any partially written Demerara, and to ports in Mexico, Central paper, it will not be charged less than 5 and South America, by the Company's and cons. connecting Stomers.
Through Passage Tickets granted to England, France, and Germany by all trans-Atlantic lines of Stenors.
The sender of any Registered Article may accompany it with a Return Rucipt on paying an extra fou of 5 cents.
The limit of weight for Books and Com RETURN PASSAGES.-Passengers, whomercial Papers to Foreign Post Offices is have paid full laro, re-umbarking at San4 lbs. Patterns for such offices are limited Francisco for China or Japan (or vice versa) to 8 ounces, and must not sxcoud these within six months, will be allowed a discount dimensions 8 inches by inches by 2 of 20% from Return Fare; if re-vinbarking inches. within one year, sa allowance ot 10 % vii be made from Return Fare. Consular Invoices to accompany Cargo destined to ports beyond San Francisco should be sent to the Company's Offices in Sealed Envelopes, addressed to the Collector of Customs at San Francisco.
