Vesasis near the Hongkong shore are marked by, near the Kowloong shore k., and those in the body of the Shipping or midway between each shors are marked e, in conjunction with the figures denoting the sections.

That the Postmaster General is satis-dur fled that the loss occurred whilst the corres- Comot pondence was in the custody of the British Postal administration in China, that it was not eased by any fault on the part of the sundor, hy destruction by fire, or ahipwreck, nor by the dishonesty or negligence of any person not in the employment of the Hongkong Post Office.
6. No compensation can be paid for more damage to fragile articles such as portraits, watches, handsomely bound books, &c., which reach their destination, although in
broken or datoziorated condition.
