Recurring again to "Mr Dod- dell's observations, it may be admitted that he hit a lot upon our legal system when he sighed for speediar justion from the Law Courts. His account, however, of the manner in which his dearly-loved home on the hill was wrested from him
by a rapacious Government for a paltry suin of £8,000, differs from that gene- rally current here. It has been stated
in these columns, if we take not -that the owner forced the land referred to upon the Government for the sum named. This may, of course, be an entire mistake; but there surely must bo two sides to a definite transaction which admits of two such extremely different explanations.
