THE CHINA REVIEW,
THE widely-expressed regret at the dis
continuance of Notës & Queries on China and Japan, has induced the publish- ers of this journal to issue e publication similar in object and style, but slightly modified in certain details.
THE CHINA REVIEW, og Notes and Queriss on the Far East, is issued at in- tervals of two months, each number con- taining about 60 octavo pagas, occasionally Illustrated with lithographs, photographs, woodcuts, de, should the papers published demand, and the dirculation justify, anch extra matter.
The subegription is fixed at $6.50 postage pald, per annum, payable by non-residents
Hongkong half yearly in advance.
The publication includes papers original and selected upon the Arts and Sciones, Ethnology, Folklore, Goography, History, Literature, Mythology, Manners and. Cus toma, Natural
of China, Jary, Religion, &a., &c.,

It is to be hoped that this opening for contributiona on Chinese subjects may evoke a similar Alert degree of literary zeal to that which was displayed during the lifetime of its prede cessor in the field, and that the Ching Review may receive the support necessary to insure its continuance. The publication is intend. ed to appear every two months, and will form a aubstantial octavo magazine.
