In the following Statements and Tables the Rates are given in cents, and are, for Letters, per half ounce, fur Books and Patterns, per two ounces.

Newspapers over four ounces in weight are charged as double, treblo, &c., as the case may be, but each papers or packets or papers may be sent at Book Rate. 1. Small Parools may be sent by Post between any of the Post Offices in China or Japan, as well as to Macao, Pak- hoi, Singapore, Tanang, and Malacos.
