Sir John Smale presumed that the lines or basls on which the school was to be established were contained in the paper he held in his hand (the circular sent to every one from whom a subscription was asked; the substance of which has already appeared in our column,)
The Bishop: Precisely. The resolation for the acceptance of the resignation of the Provisional Committee was then put to the meeting and carried, thanks being awarded to them,
Mr N. J. Ede proposed the following gentlemen as a Committee to supervise the management of the School: Bishop Burdon, Br. Chalmers, Sir John Smale, Hon. J. Russell, Hon. W. Keswick, Hon. P. Ryrie, Hor. H. B. Gibb, and Messre T. Jackson, W. H. Forbes, D. B. Craw- ford, H. W. Davis, and A. Lister.
Hon. Mr Gibb and Mr Forbes both stated that they would probably be leaving the Colony soon, but allowed their names to stand at the request of the Bishop.
On the suggestion of the Chief Jus- tine, the Committee was given power to add to the number of its members.
Rev. J. Henderson seconded the resolu- tion, which was carried.
In reply to the Chief Justice, who asked whether it would not be well to stato what was to be determined by this Committee, what they were expected to do and what limita were placed upon them,
The Bishop said the matters of, foes and hours for instance were such as would come within their province; they would have to Bettle all the little details connected with the working of the school The master would be, he bored, notwithstanding the

And so far from there being any opposition between himself and Dr Stewart, he bad gone to that gentleman to ask his advies about this very matter, and he was one of the subscribers. (Applause.)
On the motion of the Hon. P. Ryrie, seconded: by Mr Tomlin, the Committee was given power to elect its own Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.
