TOTICE is hereby given that on and after the 31st March, 1879, Geo- meirical Signals will be substituted for the flga pow in use at the Woosung Inner Bar Station, shewing the depth of water on the Bar during the day.
An explanatory diagram, shewing the signals which indicate the depth of water from 10 feet to 24 fest and which will shew the same in approaching the signal station both from Shanghat and from sea- ward, is.added herewith.
To indicato a rising tide a ball will be hoisled at the mast head.
In case of there being greater or less depths of water than here given, the num ber of foot will be signalled by the
Universal Code of Signals" at the mast head, and the half feet by a red and white Lag at the yard-arm.
