THE British barque Napier, from Cardiff, experienced a very heavy gele amounting almost to a hurricane which lasted about a week, in lat. 34 S. and 38-W., when she lost all her mails.

We would remind our readers of the per- formance to take place at the Garrison Theatre to-night. The proceeds are to be devoted to a charitable object, and the efforts of the Band Amateurs should there fore receive hearty support.

A HANDSOME painted window has been placed in St. Peter's Oburch, Blustrative of various incidents in the life and history of that Apostle. This welcome addition to the Church is the generous gift of Mr O. P. Chater, by whom it was procured from England at a cost of £150.
