A telegram published in Singapore states that the Gleneagles arrived at Port Said on the 19th June. As the first favourite left Singapore on the 1st June at 11 am, and must have reached Port Said at least before dark on the 10th, it will be seen that she' made the run from Singapore to Port Said in about 19 days. The Loudoun Castle'è time could not have been much more than 18 days, ts, having left. Singapore at 8.50 p.m. on 3rd, and Port Said on the 23rd, at an hour not given, it may be presumed that she did not lose more than one day on her rival's passage to the Mediterraneas. It would appear that the Glenartney's perfor manos bears a very strong resemblance to that of the Loudoun Castle, her time being very nearly up to that of the last year's winner on this part of the voyage home. The Ocean King has been left hopelessly
