A few minutes afterwards another bill of lading same through the window from another Chinaman and an application to have some cargo landed here. It was at once seen that the two applications were in respect of the same cargo, and they were handed back through the window, with a request for an explanation. This brought the two Chinese friends face to face, and an edifying row ensued, which ended in the withdrawal of one of the applications, the settlement of the question of which was the smarter man of these two Celestials being probably left to stand over for suother opportunity.
