The enquiry was then proceeded with. Wong Ashing said the deceased was aged 51. He was working in the godowns of Mosars Russell & Co. on the 29th Decem- ber, and accidentally slipped and fell, and a bale of hemp fell on top of him. Witness took him to the Tung Wah Hospital, and Ae stopped there two days; deceased said he did not like to stop there, so witness took him home. A Chinese doctor was attending *on him.
Dr. Wharry said the body of deceased was brought to the Hospital about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon and it had been dead about 24 hours. There was a compound dislocation of the right unele joint; there were no other external injuries. The dis- location appeared to be of old standing. His death ho believed was the result of pain and the consequent shook to the system.
The Jury said they did not think it necessary to examine the Chinese doctor.
