THE CHINESE MAIL.

This paper now lasted every day. The subscription is fixed at Four Dollars per annum delivered in Hong kong, or Seven Dollars Fifty Janta In- cluding postage to Coast poris.

It is the Arat Chinese Newspaper ever issued under purely native direction. The editorial department is conducted by Mr Chun Ayin, whose experience and competence have already been most fully demonstrated. The chief support of the papar la of course derived from the native community, amongst whom also are to be found the guarantors and securities necessary to place it on a business and Legal footing.

The projectors, basing their estimates upon the most reliable Information from the various Ports in China and Japan, from Austraila, California, Singapore, Penang, Saigon, and other places frequented by the Chinese, consider themselves justined in guaranteeing an ultimate circulation of between 3,000 and 4,000 coptes. The advantages offered to adver: tilets are therefore unurially great and the foreign community generally will find I to their interest to avail themselves of theip.

The field open to a paper of this descrip- tlon-conducted by native efforts, but. progressive and ant-obstructive in tone- in almost limitless. It on the one hand commands. Chinese bellef and interest #hile on the other deserves every ald that can be given to it by foreigners. Like English fourcals it contains Editorials, with Local, Shipping, and Commerolai News and advertisements.
