It seems that the girl had been sent by her mistress to faton" some ancestral tablets that were in prosecutor's house, and on prosecutor refusing to permit her to take them away she deliberately broke, not the tablets, but a basin. Li Asz and Wong Ashin, grass-cutters, were charged with stealing a fish from the stall of a fishmonger at the Central Market. The defendants were identified as having besa in gaol before for petty thefts. 14. days' hard labour each.

Henry Hankan, & German seaman, was charged with stealing two sovereigns two shillings and four six-pences from a serman named Henry Buch. The complainant was house.
