To facilitate finding the position of any vessel in the Harbour, the Anchorage is divided into eight Seatlone, commencing at Green Island. Vessels near the Hongkong shore are marked ., near the Kowloong shore A, and those in the body of the Shipping or midway between each shore are marked 2., in conjunction with the figures denoting the sections.

The Diario saya :——"Yesterday morning Fonolano Diamante, Valentin Reyes, La- zaro Zupit, Felisiano Cruz, and Florentino Tolentino suffered the last penalty of the law, for the heinous crimes they had committed, especially the shocking deed of St. Vincent Street, on the 28th March last. The plat form was erected in front of the Bilibid Gaol in the esplanade between the gate and the Iris Bridge. A large number of natives witnessed the terrible sct, and the general aspect of the crowd showed's profound im pression. The culprits were conducted from the gaol shortly after seven o'clock by four priests, showing much contrition, and at 8 o'clock all was over."

TRESPASS ON CEMETERY GHOUND.
Tam Achan, a milkman, was summoned by Inspector Rivers for permitting his cattle to trespass in the Cemetery at Wong. noi-cheong. Mr Edward Thompson, the man in charge of the Protestant Cemetery, proved the damage done to the grass by the cattle treading on it. The defendant pleaded that he had a pain in his stomach, and this led to his allowing the cattle to go astray. Fined $5,
ALLEGED POISONING, Kwok Anam, a servant, was brought up to answer the charge of causing the death of a Chinese woman who died of poison. Inspector Batten said the Coroner's Inquest had terminated and an open verdict had been returned. He was authorised by the Capt. Superintendent of Police to state that there was no evidence forthcoming to implicate the defendant. Under the circumstances, the Magistrate simply called upon him to give security in $25 to answer any charge for one month.
LARCENY.
Lam Acheung, a farmer, was sent to three months hard labour for stealing some clothes from Wong Mang Kow, the house-coolie to Col. Shervington.

How Asing, found guilty of highway robbery at British Kowloong, was sen- tenced to three years' penal servitude, his Lordship observing that there was no place in the Colony where the law was so openly violated as British Kowloong, and his Lordship would pass such a sentencs on him as would deter others in future.
The prisoner's compatriot who was found not guilty was ordered to be kept in custody until the sessions were closed, as he had several previous convictions against him,
JARCENY.
Ching Ayee and Ching Ashew, both convicted for stealing a box from the steamer Kwangtung and for asanlting à Malay seaman on board, were brought up for sentence. The first was sent to five years penal servitude on the first and one year's hard labour on the second count; both penalties to be contemporaneous. The second prisoner was sent to two years' hard
labour.
LARGENT.
Man Achuen, who pleaded guilty to stealing $320 in notes and $16, was sent to two years hard labour.
The Sessions were then adjourned till Monday, the 29th inst., at 10 am.
