4th November left Yokohama; did not get olear of the Gulf until midnight of the h and from thence up to noon of the 8th experienced strong northerly wind and heavy rain; when in Ist 29.50 N., long 181.30 E., experienced a very heavy phoon, which lasted from noon of the 8th up to 10 p.m., when the Barometer, which bad been standing at 20.80, began to riso alowly, and the wind to moderate and bant to the Westward; on the 9th, passed through between Okosims and Yokohama and arri ved at Foo Chow, on the 15th and experien eed strong monsoon, up to arrival at this Port; made the passage from the White Dogs to this anchorage in 38 hours,
