THE TRADE OF CANTON, COMPLAINTS of the decadence of trade al Canton have become so stereotyped that any attempt to demonstrate that matters are not quite so had as they are thought to be is apt to be received with incre dulity. We have, however, boen for nished by a painstaking correspondent with some comparative tables of the Imports and Exports at that part for 1868-9, which go very far to con fate the gloomy forebodings which the tatpens put forth, consequent on the establishment of the "blockade" in the riduity of this colony. It will be observed that with the exception of a fulling off in the quantity of Cotton, there is nothing else to complain of H far as the carrying trade on the river i concerned, which is the same now it was before, and ever shall be. Conse quently, the remark that the place is gong to the dogs!" and such like in the strain of sic transit, &c., which one heart nade in refereves to this place, are not horns out by facts, which are stabbers things to get over. If the speculators is Orange Pekoes and Capers, having burnt their fingers badly last year, keep out of the market (hence a doing nothing son), that is not Canton's fault

The following are Comparative State 7 po diet menta of Imports and Exports, into and 10 p. 8. from Canton, by the H. O. and II. Steamé 374.59 P. bout Company's vessels, from les January 161017 pm to 31st May in 1868 and 1869.
