The Council met to-day by Special Summons.
The Minutes of the last Council were read and approved.
The Governor laid on the Table an Ordinance "to amend Ordinance No. 9 of 1857;" and the Standing Orders being suspended, the said Ordinance passed through all its stages, and received the assent of His Excellency. It was then numbered as No. 6 of 1858, and ordered to be published in the Hongkong Government Gazette.
Discussion on the second reading of the Ordinance "for regulating Chinese Passenger Ships" was deferred till the next Meeting; and the Council adjourned to Saturday, the 3d April, at 12 o'clock.
