No meeting of Council having taken place on the 22nd instant, in consequence of absence of Honorable Members, the Council met to day by Special Summons.

The Minutes of the last Council were read and approved.

Read a second time, and passed, the Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to declare certain "Acts of the Imperial Parliament to be in force in the Colony of Hongkong," being No. 3 of 1856, which was ordered to be published in the next Government Gazette.

The Jury List for the year commencing on the 1st March 1856, was laid on the table and revised, 34 of the persons therein named being designated as Special Jurors. Ordered, that the Juror's List, as revised, be published in the Government Gazette.

Read and considered a letter, of the 16th instant, from the Town Major to the Colonial Secretary, with its enclosure, by which it appears that the Ordnance Storekeeper can afford accommodation in the Ordnance Magazine for all Gunpowder imported into the Colony, and that such accommodation how the approval of the Senior Officer commanding the Troops. Resolved, that His Excellency, The Governor, be requested to call upon the Colonial Secretary and the Surveyor General for their report on the proposed arrangement, with a view to its adoption in the Draft Gunpowder Ordinance, a reconstruction of which is contemplated.

The Council then adjourned sine die.
