The Honorable Major Caine
His Excellency the Governor administered the Oaths of Office to John Walter Hulme Esquire as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of His Colony and member of the Legislative Council thereof whereupon Mr. Hulme took his seat accordingly.
His Excellency the Governor having inspected Mr. Hughesdon's House decided that it should be taken as a Court house on the terms offered in the Tender and further that Mr. Hughesdon should be written to respecting the conversion of a part of his Godown to the use of the confinement of Prisoners whereupon. It was Resolved that the Colonial Secretary be instructed to make the necessary communications on the subject.
