Although the Samaritan Fund is administered by the Hedical and Health Department, it depends entirely on voluntary donations for readily obtained from other sources. financial support. The main purpose of this fund is to provide short-term relief for needy patients and their families when asalstance cannot be After thorough investigations by our Medical Social Workers, financial assistance is given to quitable patients/families who are facing difficulties because of illness, injury, child-birth, death and/or other medical, social situations.
Donations received during the financial year sucunt to a total of $151,525.00, due to the generosity of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (Charities) 124,, the Li Po Chun charitable Trust Fund, the Sir Robert Ho Tung Cheritable Fund, Messrs. Li Shiu-tsang & LI Shlu-kwan (sons of the wheelchaira provided through the gir Robert Ho Tung Charitable Fund, late Mr. Li Po Chun) and the Hong Kong Ciristian service. This mount has enabled us to assist é total of 6,218 patients in addition to 18 fixed deposits as a reserve Against future cuntingmcles.
