In their second session the Society held two shows, one, on November 14, 1907, being devoted entirely to chrysanthemums, and the regular mixed flower and vegetable show on February 26 and 27, 1908. We read that the chrysanthemum display attracted 54 entries (by fourteen exhibitors) divided into 24 classes. Nineteen prizes were distributed among six people; but none of the Peak exhibits, which were described as disappointing, obtained a prize. The membership, which was 103 in 1907, increased to 129 in 1908.

In 1910 the time of holding the show was changed to early March, a principle which has been followed nearly every year up to date.

Of considerable interest is a reference to the 1912 show, which was held on "the vacant ground opposite the Hongkong Club" - the present site of the Cenotaph. This more convenient venue led to a larger attendance than usual. The following year, and for nine years thereafter, the Botanic Gardens were again the venue.

It was not until 1921 that the show was confined to one day, and the change of venue to the Volunteer parade ground was also an innovation of the past decade. In February 1923, it was held on the H.K. Cricket Club ground, prior to the change over to the Volunteer Headquarters. There was also an instance, a few years ago, when the show was held in the old City Hall.
