ENGINEERING. In thus bringing to a conclusion their labours the organizing Committee expressed their gratitude to their fellows afloat and ashore for the help accorded them in bringing the association into actual existence.

It was then decided unanimously to style the body the "Institution of Engineers and Shipbuilders," Mr. Gilles was elected the first President and Messrs. James Wotton R.N., Robert Cooke and George Peebles, Government Surveyor, Vice-Presidents.
