GASHOLDERS EXAMINATION REGULATIONS.
(Cap. 54).
(Ordinance No. 1 of 1938).
1. In these regulations-

"gasholder" means a water sealed gasholder which has a storage capacity of not less than five thousand cubic feet.
2. The proprietors of every gasholder in the Colony shall cause the same to be externally examined periodically, not less often than once in every month, by a competent member of their staff, and make and keep proper records and reports of such examinations and of all work done in consequence thereof. Where actual perforation of the sheeting has taken place the examiner shall take steps to ascertain whether or not the perforation is due to general wastage.

3. One of such external examinations shall take place between 1st January and 31st March in each year, at a date and time to be arranged between the proprietors of the gasholder and the Colonial Secretary, when the examiner shall be accompanied by an observer appointed by the Governor and the proprietors shall furnish such observer with copies of all the records and reports of the previous year made and kept in accordance with regulation 2.
4. Within one month after each such annual examination the proprietors shall furnish to the Colonial Secretary a report containing the particulars set out in the Appendix.
5. At least once in every seven years a thorough examination shall be made of every gasholder in the Colony, which has been installed for more than fifteen years, with a view to ascertaining the condition of the internal surfaces of the sheeting at a date and time to be arranged between the proprietors of the gasholder and the Colonial Secretary when the examiner shall be accompanied by an observer appointed...
