ELECTRICITY SUPPLY.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Electricity Supply Ordinance.

Short title.

In this Ordinance-

Interpretation.

"company" means any person or any body of persons corporate or unincorporate by whom electricity is generated or supplied;

"electricity" means electricity, electric current or any like agency;

"electric line" means a wire or wires, conductor or other means used for the purpose of conveying, transmitting or distributing electricity, with any casing, coating, covering, tube, pipe or insulator enclosing, surrounding or supporting the same, or any part thereof, or any apparatus connected therewith for the purpose of conveying, transmitting or distributing electricity;

"street" includes any square, court or alley, highway, lane, road, thoroughfare or public passage or place;

"works" includes electric lines and any buildings, machinery, engines, works, matters or things of whatever description required to supply electricity and to carry into effect the objects of a company.

3. The Governor in Council may make regulations, which shall apply to every company generating or supplying electricity within the Colony, for-

(a) securing the safety of the public in respect of electricity, electric lines and works;

(b) securing a regular and sufficient supply of electricity and generally for controlling and regulating such supply;
