An Ordinance to make provision with regard to the effect on certain contracts of certain requirements, regulations and restrictions rendered necessary by war.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Contracts (War Restrictions) Ordinance, 1917.

2. It is hereby declared that where the fulfilment by any person of any contract to be performed within the Colony is interfered with by the necessity on the part of himself or any other person of complying with any requirement, regulation or restriction of the Admiralty, the Army Council, a Minister of Munitions, a Food Controller or any other department or minister of the Imperial Government under any Act relating to Imperial or colonial defence, or any regulation made thereunder, or with any regulation under any Order of His Majesty in Council for the security in time of emergency of any part of His Majesty's dominions, that necessity is a good defence to any action or proceedings within the Colony against that person in respect of the non-fulfilment of the contract so far as it is due to that interference.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Fire and Marine Insurance Companies Deposit Ordinance, 1917.

Application of Ordinance.

2.-(1) This Ordinance shall apply to all persons and bodies of persons, whether incorporate or unincorporate,
