Pension to William Quin, Esq.
Chinese Emigration.
No. 11 of 1868.
Title.
Preamble.
Governor in Council authorized to grant to WM. QUIN, Esq. a pension of £200 per annum.
An Ordinance to enable the Governor in Council to grant a Pension to WILLIAM QUIN, Esquire, Superintendent of Police.
[13th October, 1868.]
WHEREAS WILLIAM QUIN, Esquire, is willing to resign the Office of Superintendent of Police, and it is expedient that such resignation should be accepted; And whereas the period of service of the said WILLIAM QUIN is not sufficient to entitle him to a pension under the regulations in force in Hongkong in that behalf, but it is nevertheless deemed expedient that a pension of two hundred pounds per annum should be granted to him for the term of his natural life: Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. It shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to grant to WILLIAM QUIN, Esquire, Superintendent of Police in this Colony, a pension of two hundred pounds per annum under the same regulations and conditions, as if such pension had been granted to him in pursuance of the Pension Minute of this Colony bearing date the 5th day of May, 1862: Provided that such pension may commence from the date at which the said WILLIAM QUIN may have ceased to receive any salary or allowance from or on account of this Colony.

Repeal of Hongkong Emigration Ordinance, 1867.
Short title.
An Ordinance for repealing the "Hongkong Emigration Ordinance, 1867," and for better securing the Health and Protection of Emigrants in Chinese Passenger Ships clearing from Hongkong.

WHEREAS it has become necessary to repeal the "Hongkong Emigration Ordinance, 1867," and amend the provisions for securing the health of emigrants in Chinese passenger ships clearing from Hongkong: Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. The "Hongkong Emigration Ordinance, 1867," shall be and the same hereby is repealed.
2. This Ordinance may be cited for all purposes as "The Hongkong Emigration Ordinance, 1868."
