PART I
PRELIMINARY
1. These regulations may be cited as the Hong Kong Airport (Restricted Areas) Regulations.
2. In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires-
"airport tenant" means the lessee or licensee of any part of a tenant restricted area;
"authorized person" means a public officer authorized in writing by the Director for the purposes of these regulations and any police officer on duty within the airport;
"permit" means-
(a) for the purposes of Part II, a standard permit or a temporary permit issued under regulation 6 or a replacement permit issued under regulation 17;
(b) for the purposes of Part III, a tenant permit or a temporary tenant permit issued under regulation 20 or a replacement permit issued under regulation 24;
(c) for the purposes of Part IV, a vehicle permit issued under regulation 26(1) or a replacement permit issued under regulation 32(1);
(d) for the purposes of Part V, any permit issued under these regulations;
"permit holder", in relation to a permit, means the person to whom the permit is issued;
**"restricted area" means an area declared under regulation 3(1)(a) to be a restricted area;
"tenant restricted area" means an area declared under regulation 3(1)(b) to be a tenant restricted area.
3. (1) Without prejudice to paragraph (2), the Director may, by order published in the Gazette, declare-
(a) any area within the airport, except an area held under lease or licence from the Crown, to be a restricted area;
