45. In this Ordinance,

(a) "Business" includes every trade, occupation, or profession.

(b) "The court" includes every court and judge having jurisdiction in the case.

46. The rules of equity and of common law applicable to partnership shall continue in force, except so far as they are inconsistent with the express provisions of this Ordinance.

47. This Ordinance may be cited as the Partnership Ordinance, 1897.

An Ordinance to consolidate and amend the laws relating to probates and letters of administration.

[15th May, 1897.]

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Probates Ordinance, 1897.

2. In this Ordinance,

(a) “Administration" comprehends all letters of administration of the estates of deceased persons, whether with or without a will annexed, and whether granted for general, special, or limited purposes.

(b) “The court” means the Supreme Court exercising jurisdiction under this Ordinance.

(c) "Estate" or property of a deceased person means the personal estate and effects of whatever kind of such person, and includes property passing on the death of such person.

(d) "Estate duty" means estate duty under the Estate Duty Ordinance, 1915.

(e) "Matters and causes testamentary" comprehend all matters and causes relating to the granting and revocation of probate of wills and of administration.

(f) "Next of kin" includes persons entitled in their own right to property passing on the death of any person.
