1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Merchant Shipping Short title. Ordinance, 1899.

2. In this Ordinance,

(a) "The Harbour Master" includes any person deputed or authorised by the Harbour Master to execute any power or perform any duty vested in or imposed upon him by this Ordinance.

(b) "International Collision Regulations" means the Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea made under the Merchant Shipping Acts.

(c) "Junk" includes lorcha and any sea-going sailing-vessel of Chinese or other Asiatic build, construction, and rig.
