Mahomedan Cemetery.

measuring thereon four hundred and sixty-five feet and on the West side thereof on ground now in the possession of Government and measuring thereon four hundred and sixty-seven and a half feet which said piece or parcel of ground contains in the whole three acres two roods thirty-one perches and twenty-five square yards and is registered in the Land Office as Inland Lot number 582 in the names of Sheik Mosdeen, Mahomed Arab, and Seik Jumma.

Rules and regulations made by the Governor in Council the 24th August, 1867, for the proper carrying out the provisions of Ordinance No. 8 of 1867. Gazette 31st August, 1867.

1. The means of ingress and egress to and from the old Mahomedan cemetery shall be only by the eastern gate, immediately opposite the Government water tank.

2. No person shall be allowed to enter or leave the cemetery by any other means.

3. The Mussulman community shall have access to the old cemetery between the hours of 1 P.M. and 6 P.M. daily.

4. No Chinese shall be allowed within the walls of the old cemetery at any time, unless employed by the Government, or having special permission from the Governor or Surveyor General.

5. All sheds, huts, or buildings of any description standing within the walls of the old cemetery shall be forthwith removed, and such buildings shall not again be allowed to be erected.

6. The keys of the cemetery shall be kept at No. 9 Police Station, Caine Road.

7. Any breach of the above regulations may be punished by fine not exceeding $50, or by imprisonment with or without hard labor for any period not exceeding one month.

An Ordinance to make further Provision for the Maintenance of Order and Cleanliness within the Colony of Hongkong.

WHEREAS it is expedient to make further provision for the maintenance of order and cleanliness in the Colony of Hongkong: Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. Ordinance No. 8 of 1866 is hereby repealed.
