Proclamation, 15th December, 1866, under section 6

That it had been made to appear to the satisfaction of the Governor that the whole of the capital of five millions of dollars mentioned in the said section had been subscribed for by deed under hand and seal, and that more than one half of such sum of five millions of dollars had been actually paid up.

Government Notification of the 13th August, 1867, under section 10

Notifying that it had been proved to the satisfaction of the Governor that persons who have subscribed for at least one half of the capital of the bank, have executed the deed of settlement required by the said Ordinance.

Proclamation of the 12th July, 1884, under section 5

That the further capital of two millions and five hundred thousand dollars had been raised and that the sum of five millions of dollars together with the said further sum of two millions and five hundred thousand dollars making in all a total of seven millions and five hundred thousand dollars should henceforth be taken to be the fixed capital of the said bank, but with power nevertheless to the bank to further increase the capital hereafter as provided in the said Ordinance.

An Ordinance for the better Regulation and Control of certain Vessels frequenting the Waters of Hongkong.

[14th August, 1866.]

WHEREAS it is expedient to make provision for the regulation and control of junks within the waters of the Colony of Hongkong: Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be cited for all purposes as "The Harbor and Coasts Ordinance Hongkong 1866."

2. In the construction of this Ordinance the term "Junk" shall mean every sea-going Chinese or other vessel not coming within the provisions of section 4 of Ordinance No. 1 of 1862, and not being a fishing boat or vessel licensed under section 29 of this Ordinance or a boat or vessel licensed by the Registrar General to ply within the waters of the Colony under section 16 of Ordinance No. 8 of 1858.

The term "Licensed Junk" shall mean a junk, boat, or vessel, now licensed under section 16 of Ordinance No. 8 of 1858 to carry passengers between the Colony and the ports on the Chinese Main, or hereafter to be licensed under section 26 of this Ordinance to ply between the Colony and other ports.
