50. The following projects were completed during the year:

(i) Rank & File Married Quarters, Au Tau.

(ii) 48 Inspectorate Married Quarters, Park Road.

(iii) New Man Kam To Police Post.

51. By the end of the year the following projects were nearing completion:

(i) New Aberdeen Police Station.

(ii) 70 Inspectorate Married Quarters, Ho Man Tin.

(iii) 6 Gazetted Officers Quarters, Beas Stables.

(iv) Police Training School, Stage III which includes Quarters for Inspectorate

and Gazetted Officers.

52.

During the year significant progress was made in the planning of several top priority projects and piling work began on the new twenty storey Police Headquarters at Arsenal Street which is scheduled for completion in July 1971.

FINANCE

53. The approved estimates of expenditure for the year was $144,759,600 and actual expenditure amounted to $143,344,734. A breakdown of actual expenditure in respect of the last three years is shown in Appendix 9. The total revenue collected during the year was $2,292,309.

PART III

RECRUITING AND TRAINING

RECRUITMENT

Officers

54. During the year 54 overseas and 43 local officers were recruited. 30 overseas and 30 local officers passed out from the Training School and 31 overseas and 22 local officers were still under training at the end of the year.

55. Eight Women Probationary Inspectors were recruited. Three passed out of the Training School during the year and three were still under training at the end of the year. One resigned during training and the services of the other officer were terminated.
