COMPLAINT AGAINST THE POLICE
40. A detailed analysis of complaints of various kinds made against members of the Force is given in Appendix 4. Details regarding allega- tions of corruption are given in paragraph 94. Complaints made by members of the public against police officers are entered in official registers. They are formally investigated by a Gazetted Officer whose findings and recommendations are always checked by the Assistant Commissioner of the formation concerned. District Commanders and heads of branches regularly examine the complaint registers of Units under their command.
