243. The Association is controlled by a General Committee elected annually by the full members, the President of the Association also nominates the Chair- man, the Force Welfare Officer and one representative from each Command to serve as ex-officio committee members. Each branch of sports has a sub- committee to run its own activities, such as inter-divisional competitions from which ability in the particular sport is assessed for Force representation. 244. The Association has decided to extend its premises and build a semi- automatic bowling alley at Boundary Street. It is expected that this game will be welcomed by all ranks.

245. The most popular games amongst the Rank and File are football, basketball, athletics, swimming, billiards, volleyball and table-tennis. In addition, boxing, judo, cricket, lawn bowls, rugby, tennis and squash all have a keen following. Representative teams participating in the various Colony leagues have been doing well.

SPORT

246. The annual Police Athletic Sports was held on the afternoon of Saturday 16th January, 1965 at the Boundary Street Police Ground. This year it was regarded as a families day and was well supported by all ranks and their families.

247. The Dowman Road Race was held in the morning on 14th February, 1965 in the New Territories. The winner broke the record of last year by completing the 4 mile course in 33 minutes 40 seconds. The annual Swim- ming Gala held on 6th October, 1964 in Victoria Swimming Pool also proved to be a successful event.

248. The annual Interport Football Match between the Macau Police and Hong Kong Police was held on 14th May, 1964 at Boundary Street, and the Hong Kong Police won the game by 5 goals to nil.

249. Five police officers were selected to represent Hong Kong in the Olympic Games held in Tokyo during October, 1964.

POLICE RECREATION CLUB

250. This Club continues to promote sports and recreational functions such as lawn bowls, tennis and billiards. It is also the home ground for Force cricket teams. Membership is open to all members of the regular force and the auxiliaries of the rank of Inspector and above. Monthly dances and other social activities have been held throughout the year. The sporting facilities have been fully used and the club is in general well supported.
