231. The Transport Section of the Division after conducting a series of trials is taking delivery of ten light commercial-type vehicles to replace the existing types employed on day-to-day duties. Other trials are being carried out on a range of light motor-cycles.

233. The helicopters of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force continue to give valuable help in aerial reconnaissance and in the evacuation of sick and injured persons from outlying areas.

234. Force vehicles ran 4,693,397 miles; they were involved in 211 accidents giving an average figure of 22,244 miles per accident.

THE HONG KONG AUXILIARY POLICE FORCE

235. The role of the Auxiliary Police Force is to support the Regular Force in times of emergency and on other occasions when demands on the police are abnormal.

236. Auxiliary personnel are civilian volunteers. When mobilized they are completely integrated with the regular Force. Each of the nine
