149. Reports involving other Government Departments numbered 198. 13 Government Servants were charged before the Courts. 9 were convicted and 4 acquitted.
150. Disciplinary action was taken against 46 officers. Of these 7 were dismissed from Public Service, 5 resigned, 20 were awarded punish- ments and 1 was acquitted. Action in 13 cases remained incomplete at the end of the year.
Corruption involving Members of the Public
151. A total of 38 members of the public were charged with corruption or kindred offences. Of these 29 were convicted and 9 acquitted.

VEHICLES REGISTERED
152. The total number of vehicles registered at the end of the year was 57,256, an increase of 6,393. Comparative figures over a five year period are shown at Appendix VIII, Table A.
ROAD ACCIDENTS
153. There were 15,007 road accidents of which 206 were fatal. Comparative figures over a period of five years are as follows:
