FINANCE

27. For the year under review the authorized estimate was $46,075,120 and the actual expenditure was $44,272,182. A breakdown of actual expenditure for the last three years is shown at Appendix IV.

28. Revenue collected amounted to $11,913,245 against an estimate of $10,345,500. The excess was due, in the main, to the increasing number of motor vehicles and drivers in the Colony.

THE WELFARE FUND

29. A table reflecting the state of the Welfare Fund is set out at Appendix V.
