197. In consequence of the enactment of other legislation, only seven sections of the Statute of Frauds 1677 and one section of the Statute of Frauds Amendment Act 1828 applied in Hong Kong by virtue of the Application of English Law Ordinance. The Law Amendment (Mis- cellaneous Provisions) (Amendment) Ordinance 1971 re-enacted those provisions in modern language, but without altering their substance. Among the sections re-enacted were those relating to contracts for the sale or other disposition of land, and to the creation of interests in land.
198. The Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance 1971, which has yet to be brought into operation, contains provisions for the preservation of monuments situated and antiquities discovered in Hong Kong. Section 3 enables the Authority to declare to be a monument any place, building, site or structure which the Authority considers to be of public interest by reason of its historical, archaeological or palaeontological significance. Plans showing the situation of monuments are to be de- posited by the Authority in the appropriate Land Office. The Ordinance contains provision for objections to proposed declarations.
199. The Rent Increases (Domestic Premises) Control (Amendment) Ordinance 1971 extended the duration of the Rent Increases (Domestic Premises) Control Ordinance for a period of two years from the 31st May 1972, when it would otherwise have expired.
200. The Rent Increases (Domestic Premises) Control (Amendment) Ordinance 1972 empowers a landlord of premises protected by the principal Ordinance who had increased the rent of the premises to impose two further increases of a maximum of 5% each, subject to certain conditions. The Ordinance contains provisions giving tenants security of tenure for one year from the date of any such further increase.
201. The Stamp (Amendment) Ordinance 1972 contains inter alia provisions relating to the stamping of vesting orders consequential upon an order for sale or partition made under the Partition Ordinance.
202. The Bishop of Victoria Incorporation (Amendment) Ordinance 1972 amended certain covenants relating to the use of the Lot on which
