The above total 17,733 does not include the re-marriages of same parties previously customarily married. The information given in the Table can best be explained by taking two examples. The figures given opposite '18' in the left-hand i.e. "Age of Wife' column give the numbers of men of each age or age group given opposite 'Age of Husband' whom girls of 18 married. Similarly the figures given in the fifth vertical column headed '19' give the numbers of girls of each age or age group married to husband aged 19.
