Trade Marks

188. The Law Revision (Miscellaneous Repeals) Ordinance 1968 repealed inter alia the Trade Marks Register (Reconstruction) Ordinance and the Alien Enemies (Re-vesting of Trade Marks) Ordinance, both of which had expired or were spent.

Births and Deaths

189. The Births and Deaths Registration (Amendment) Ordinance 1967 amended the principal Ordinance by removing the requirement that certificates of the cause of death must include a statement as to whether any anaesthetic was administered to a deceased person prior to his death. The opportunity was taken to provide for matters pertain- ing to the shortened form of birth certificate and for amendments of the Schedules to the principal Ordinance to be dealt with by the Governor instead of the Governor in Council.

190. The Births and Deaths Registration (Amendment of Second Schedule) Ordinance 1968 amended the Second Schedule to the prin- cipal Ordinance by substituting a fresh form of Certificate of order authorizing the burial or cremation of a body.

The conference discussions ranged over a wide field and identified many of the problems common to the areas represented. In the course of his visit to Honolulu, Mr. THOMSON called at the office of Mr. Michiki ADACHI, the Registrar of Conveyances of the State of Hawaii, and discussed with him the systems of registration and the problems relating thereto. The many courtesies extended to Mr. THOMSON during his visit are gratefully acknowledged.
