106. The number of patents registered during the year dropped by 26 from last year's record total to 338. The numbers registered during the past five years have been as follows:

107. Table XXIII shows the number of patents registered according to the countries of domicile of the grantees, with the previous year's figures for comparison. As will be seen, the United States of America and the United Kingdom remained at the top and second of the placings. Switzerland, fifth last year, has jumped to third position ousting West Germany into fourth place.
Fees
108. The year's revenue amounted to $21,058, $4,685 less than in the previous year. This decrease in revenue was due mainly to the drop in the number of applications received during the year.

109. The Bankruptcy Ordinance and the Rules made thereunder follow with some variations the English Bankruptcy legislation. The law relating to the winding up of companies by the Court is contained in the Companies Ordinance and the Companies (Winding-up) Rules made thereunder, which are based respectively on the Companies Act 1929, formerly in force in Great Britain, and the Winding-up Rules thereunder.
