Deposits by Fire, Marine and Life Insurance Companies

84. The deposits made by 51 insurance companies with the Regis- trar of Companies under the Fire and Marine Insurance Companies Deposit Ordinance were valued as at 31st March 1966 at $8,101,734, and those made by 32 companies under the Life Insurance Companies Ordinance at $5,134,957.70.

Trust Companies

85. No Trust Company was registered under Part VIII of the Trustee Ordinance so that the number of Trust Companies on the register remained at three.

Money-Lenders

86. Twenty-eight money-lenders licences were issued under the Money-Lenders Ordinance, six more than in 1964-65. The fee for such a licence is $500 per annum.

Chinese Partnerships Ordinance

87. There are twenty-two partnerships on the Register, only one of which has been registered since the war (in 1959-60). The other twenty- one were registered before 1935, and appear to be no longer in existence.

Limited Partnerships Ordinance

88. This Ordinance, which applies only to such partnerships as in the opinion of the Registrar of Companies can properly be described as non-Chinese partnerships (Chinese partnerships being registrable under the Chinese Partnerships Ordinance see the preceding paragraph), enables partnerships to be registered between one or more general partners laible for all the debts of the firm and one or more limited partners liable only up to the amount contributed by them to the partnership. One such partnership was registered and two were dis- solved during the year, reducing the total number registered to seventeen, of which only seven are believed to be still in existence.

Registered Trustees Incorporation Ordinance 1958

89. Under this Ordinance the duly appointed trustees (not being less than three nor more than seven) of any body of persons as defined in the Ordinance may apply for incorporation; and the Governor may, if he considers such incorporation expedient, grant a certificate of incorporation, whereupon the trustees and their successors in office
