The rules made by the Chief Justice in exercise of this power, which are known as the Authorized Auditors (Appeal) Rules, 1956, were published in the Gazette of 11th May, 1956, as G.N. No. A44.
Births & Deaths Registration.
57. The Births & Deaths Registration (Amendment) Ordin- ance, 1957 enacted on 28th March, 1957, but which does not come into force until 1st April, 1957, amended the principal Ordinance by substituting the Registrar General as the authority to be in charge of births and deaths registration in place of the Director of Medical and Health Services.
58. The transfer of the functions of registration of births and deaths from the Medical Department to the Registrar General's Department effected by the amending Ordinance referred to in the preceding paragraph necessitates the amend- ment also of the Schedule to the Registrar General (Establish- ment) Ordinance (Chapter 100), to add the office of "Registrar of Births & Deaths" to the existing functions of the Registrar General which are listed in that Schedule. This amendment is made by the Registrar General (Establishment) (Amendment) Ordinance, 1957, which was also enacted on 28th March, 1957, to come into force on 1st April, 1957.
