New Street Index.

12. The first post-war edition of the Index of Streets, House Numbers and Lots (26th Issue) which is based on the position as shown in Land Office records up to and including 31st Decem- ber, 1955, was published during the year. Owing to the large amount of additional material incorporated since the previous issue in 1938, it was decided to publish the new edition in two parts, Part I covering the Island of Hong Kong and Part II covering Kowloon and New Kowloon. From the time of publica- tion 640 copies of Part I and 644 copies of Part II have been sold to the public or issued to various Government departments.
