INTRODUCTORY

THE Registrar General's Department was established on 1st April, 1949, under the Registrar General (Establishment) Ordinance (Cap. 100), and now comprises the Land Office, the Companies and Trade Marks and Patents Registries, the Mar- riage Registry, and the offices of the Official Receiver in Bank- ruptcy, the Official Trustee, and the Official Solicitor in Lunacy. 2. The establishment of the department consists of the Registrar General, a Deputy Registrar General, a Legal Assistant and seven Assistant Registrars together with a staff of 40 other officers.
