68. The Registrar General (Establishment) (Amendment) Ordinance, 1953, also specifically provided that the Registrar General, the Deputy Registrar General, and any Legal Assistant appointed under the principal Ordinance are to be deemed to be Legal Officers for the purposes of the Legal Officers Ordin- ance (Chapter 87) and are to have all the rights vested in Legal Officers by that Ordinance.

69. Mr. W. K. Thomson, Deputy Registrar General, was on leave from 20th May, 1953, until 14th February, 1954, during which period Mr. M. Morley John, Crown Counsel seconded from the Legal Department acted as Deputy Registrar General.
70. Mr. T. W. R. Wilson was appointed Assistant Registrar, Class 1, (Temporary), in charge of the Street Index Unit.
