25. The Patents Registry was re-opened, for the first time since the war, on the 1st September, 1950. The number of patents registered on the 31st March, 1951 was 48.

1951 was 48. This figure includes 3 cases in which registration had been effected before the war. Fees collected during the period amounted to $1,832.00.

28. The number of Trust Estates in the hands of the Official Trustee during the period was eight. The invested funds totalled $124,203.57 (including the sum of £1,650 invested in the United Kingdom) producing an annual income of $4,984.51. In the case of the Shula Trust the securities have been sold and the total amount of the Trust will shortly be paid to the representatives of the original recipient, who died in 1945. In the case of the Mohamed Trust every effort has been made to trace the representatives of the original recipient, who died during the war, but beneficiaries of the original recipient, who died during the war, but without success. The monies at the credit of this Trust will be held for the balance of five years and if no successful claimant appears the amount will be paid into the revenue of the Colony, in accordance with the Unclaimed Balances Ordinance.
