The levelled site in the upper picture, taken in 1962, is now occupied by a Government Low-Cost Housing Estate and a similar Estate built by the Hong Kong Settlers Housing Corporation. Shek Kip Mei squatter area, bottom right in the above photo- graph, has now, in turn, been cleared for the Pak Tin Resettlement Estate. Two older, Mark I, Resettlement Estates are also shown in the first photograph.
